Maestro Eric Jacobsen and violinist Colin Jacobsen
Sat. September 22, 2018
4PM
Pequot Library Auditorium
On Saturday September 22nd, Eric Jacobsen, Conductor of the Greater Bridgeport Symphony, and brother violinist Colin Jacobsen, gave a wonderful presentation and overview of the pieces the Orchestra would play at the Klein Memorial Theater that evening. Colin played the cadenza from the Mozart and and excerpt from Vahn Williams, "THE LARK ASCENDING". Colin and Eric shared their thoughts about the magic and energy that comes from the live music experience so unique to the Symphony. They also shared their excitement and enthusiasm for video they were able to shoot in the Majestic Theater in Bridgeport and the incredible sound they were able to produce inside the walls of this legendary building, once a performance hall with 3,000 seats. The audience had the opportunity to have an up and close dialogue with these two talents that have been pioneers in the world of classical music.
We thank our program sponsors: Dr Elizabeth Beirne and Doc Hermalyn
