Music Exchange Orchestra Concert
April 28th, 2017

Over 60 students participated in the Weston, Bridgeport Exchange Orchestra this year.  This program was launched in January when students from Weston were bused to Bridgeport for a day with the High Horizons and Multicultural Magnet schools 8th grade strings class..  The Haven String Quartet worked in small group sectionals with the exchange orchestra to help prepare for the spring concerts in April.  In March the Bridgeport School students traveled to Weston to continue working together on the repertoire.  The final concert (in video above) was a celebration of the partnership of these three schools and the Haven Quartet.  The students enjoyed the opportunity to meet new friends, share lunch and conversation.

NYGASP - "The Wandering Minstrels"
Don’t expect this light-hearted group to stand still and sing! But you can expect to hear great voices, skilled in the G&S style, presenting satirical, sentimental, and rousing Gilbert & Sullivan favorites with style and flair. Costume elements, props and choreography provide the visual pop which turns each event into a celebration, with the camaraderie and spontaneous banter of the Wand’ring Minstrels adding an extra measure of froth to the proceedings!
Each of the Wand’ring Minstrels is a leading performer from the acclaimed New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players company with a long list of G&S roles in repertory. This provides the flexibility to perform varying programs and the ability to rise to the challenge of surprise requests from the audience, a tour-de-force featured segment in most programs of this lively ensemble.
